In the week of February 17 to 21, there was a Learning and Teaching Activity
that happened in Issoire (Auvergne)
Monday 17 : 8.30 : meeting at school
9.00- 10.00 : welcoming ceremony with the headmaster
10-11h : visit of the school + sports facilities
11 : meeting with the mayor (city hall)
12-13.40 : lunch at the canteen
13.40- 14.40 : presentation of the partners in various classes
14h40- 16h30 : working session for teachers ; students with their partners (optional classes or free time)
Tuesday 18 : 8- 9.30 : PE lesson with the French
10.30 : visit of Michelin stadium in Clermont Ferrand + visit of the museum (history of our regional rugby team : ASM)
Packed lunch, free time in Clermont (cathedral, historical centre)
Back to school by 16.45
Dinner : at school, with a traditional folk group
Wednesday 19 : morning : biathlon at school (9.12H)
Free afternoon
Thursday 20: 9- 16.45 : cross-country skiing with the French/ OR ice-skating + hiking
Lunch in an inn.
Friday 21 : 10h-12h : art class ; illustrations of the brochures, team work
Lunch at the canteen (12h- 13h40)
14. 16H : conference with Guillaume Vizade (Basket ball head coach ;Vichy Clermont métropole, Pro B)

For the first mobility with students, we organised the following schedule:
Monday 17 : 8.30 : meeting at school,
9.00- 10h : welcoming ceremony at school, with the headmaster & working team
The Headmaster welcomed the 5 teams and wished everyone to enjoy this week. He said how proud and excited the French team was.
10-10h45 : The teachers and students were then invited to visit the school and its sports facilities with French students
11h : We had a short meeting with the mayor of Issoire (dissemination) at the town hall.
13.40- 14.40 : presentation of the partners in various classes of high school
14h40- 16h30 : working session for teachers ; students with their partners (optional classes or free time)
Teachers mostly discussed the organisation (logistics…) of the week during that working session.
For the first mobility with students, we organised the following schedule:
Tuesday 18 :
8- 9.30 : Foreign students were invited to participate in a typical PE lesson with their French hosts. Many pictures and videos were made.
10.30 : visit of Michelin stadium in Clermont Ferrand + visit of the museum (history of our regional rugby team : ASM). Rugby is more than a sport in that region, so it seems relevant to have the students discover this.
Packed lunch, free time in Clermont (cathedral, historical centre)
Dinner : at school, with a traditional folk group. The students had the opportunity to have fun while dancing on traditional songs. The musicians were dressed in traditional clothes. Host families were invited too.
For the first mobility with students, we organised the following schedule:
Wednesday 19 : The PE teachers organised a biathlon session at school to present the equipment, the rules and the way it is taught in schools. Students were particularly delighted to get to know that sport better.

For the first mobility with students, we organised the following schedule:
Thursday 20: Due to the weather conditions, the group was not able to try cross-country skiing. They went to the ice-rink instead, which was a memorable moment for all of them before discovering a local speciality (the truffade) in an inn.
In the afternoon, they had a walk around Lake Pavin to discover the breathtaking landscapes.
For the first mobility with students, we organised the following schedule:
Friday 21 :
A dozen of volunteers met a journalist from the local newspaper to testimony about their participation and experience in the project (dissemination).
In the morning, students worked in team to illustrate the brochures they had worked on before the meeting (objectives: better knowledge of sports and traditions, art, teamwork…)
In the afternoon, students and teachers had a lecture with Guillaume Vizade (Basket ball head coach ; Vichy Clermont métropole, Pro B):
Part 1: Sports and society (the power of sport, Inclusion through sport, education to promote equality though sport)
Part 2: the danger of sport (the dark sides: the prevalent issue of racism and discrimation)
